First of all, the High-Res mod is 67Hz, not 60Hz. The VGA mod is 60Hz and it sounds like they did the VGA mod, because I can't see the flicker on a High-Res mod and I can certainly see the flicker on a VGA mod (at least most of the time).
The RAM thing is probably due to OWC's relative RAM incompetence. Send 'em back, get your money back, and buy 'em from 1-800-4-Memory (Coast to Coast) or Velocity Upgrades. Make sure you specify single-banked SIMMs or it almost certainly won't work. If they try and tell you it won't work, tell them to p*** off and sell you the RAM anyway. :)
