Subject: Dead 575 logic board

Dear all

I recently obtained a mail-order 575 board to put into my CC - working brilliantly after a new system installation. But it arrived without a RAM SIMM, so I borrowed the 16M one from my existing 575.

Got hold of a 2nd hand 16M SIMM to put back into the 575 machine and - darn, no bootup from the keyboard button, it's dead as a doornail. I know the problem is the logic board because I've swapped them over and the 575 works fine with my mail-order logic board inside it.

The only explanation I can think of is that I've zapped the board with static. If that's true, is the problem most likely to be the CPU (which I can replace)? Or could the problem be anywhere on the logic board? Or am I barking up the wrong tree completely?

Regards
