Having given up on the VGA mod for this Mystic, decent geometry being impossible to obtain, and with the owner wanting 7.5 on the Mystic, I attempted the 'logic board mod' for the first time. (I know that can be avoided with ResEdit, but I wanted to be handing over a system on which the owner could re-install a System without such technicalities.)

The actual process of adding a new surface mount resisitor is a pig with the basic soldering iron that I have.

BUT the finished result is rather nice, and I take back my view that the VGA modification is the only way to go., The 512 x 384 display is very readable, especially for those of us approaching middle-age, and apart from the problem that it won't run s/w that demands 640 x 480, it's a very nice machine with 32Mb and the LC Ethernet card that was pulled from the original CC logic board.
