First thing to say is that they won't cure barrel distortion!

Adjust your geometry to erradicate that first. Last week I came across an analogue board which was OK at 512 x 384 with the P/B preset at one end of its travel, but there was no way I could get rid of the pincushion at 640 x 480 at all.

Once you've got a rectangular screen, the caps will widen it, typically by 10-15%-ish.

They are hard to find. The electronics chain store in the UK that used to list them does no more. If you have a friendly local TV repair place, they may help. Failing that, there are a couple of big on-line companies in the UK, and I'd guess there must be some in the USA. In the UK, I'd check out www.rswww.com. They'll probably ship to the USA at a price!
