I am not worried about form, just fuction. I'm pretty good with a soldering iron, and a little crazy. I know the Power supply is huge. I plan to take it out of the tin can, and cut the board into two pieces, mounting half on each side of the tube, and wiring between them. (using tons of ferrite on the crossover wires, of course, I have a bunch of ferrite from a few Quadra 800's that I gutted a while ago.) All I really need to know, is if the tube will power up without a logic board. (The stock power supply will not be feeding the logic board, only switching a relay, and powering the tube.)

As far as cutting the power supply. Yes, I can do it. I did it to a PC keyboard once, so I could mount half to each side of my office chair. Idea turned out to be a real loser, though. Did not take the mouse into considderation, and couldn't stand the alps trackpad that I tried to use. Wasn't really comfortable anyway. I was just going for looks.
