No its not the HDD draining too much power, I've not connected it, I've been using its power connector to check the volatges.

A bit more investigation has confimed the wiring loom to be correct and the power rails do recover when the logic board is removed with the power on as you (SB) suggested.

A bit of probing has revealed 2 things:

S5/ABC7 - (the Power off command) has 5V from the Analog board - Seems odd I'd have thought it would be sitting at 0V without the logic board attached, anyone know what its meant to be?

S7/ABC23 - (+5V) has 0V from the Analog board which is obviously wrong, unless the logic board is supposed to supply the 5V not the analog board, again, anyone know what I should expect from this pin with and without the logic board?

I'm still sure we'll get there in the end......
