If you intend to use the floppy drive that came in the CC, you must cut #9. If you intend to use the manual inject from the newer macs, it must be intact. The only reason to use the manual would be to gain some headroom in the logicboard bay. The manual inject will need to be mounted a little higher. this will give you more space under it. If you are doing anything less than a 5400, you won't need the space. (It might be neccesary if you intend to use the video-in card.)
