One time when I was about 10 and my older sister was 13 we were told by our Mother to make sure we were home one hour before supper to help get our supper table together. Well this day we were down by the lake with friends and we forgot the time and we’re almost 45 minutes late. Mother was very mad and our Daddy was too because we didn’t mind her words. We ate our supper knowing a whoopin was coming after supper was finished and the dishes washed.

When everything was clean, Daddy directed my Sister and me to his woodworking shop in the back of our house. This is where the whoopins were given. Daddy closed the door and said my sister was first and Daddy took the leather strap off the mail by the door and sat down on a wooden stool and told my Sister to bare her backside. She did and laid across his knees and was whooped. When she was finished with hers I traded places with her and bared my backside and also laid across his knees and was whooped. Following we were sent to our rooms for the night.
