hey there ive been seeing this little thing go on here about nothingface and i thought that i would just give my little bit of input as i am a drummer who uses profound use of double bass.

actually tim if you listen to nothingface's new album (Violence) you can hear the double bass through out. these songs have heavy use of the double bass action--=>"bleeder" "same solution" "cant wait for violence" "dead like me" "blue skin" "everlasting godstopper (especially this one)" those are just the ones that i can think of just by listening to the first little clips off the cd. most of the songs on audio guide to everyday atrocity also employ heavy use of the double bass. i saw them live with soulfly and pantera, and you could deffinately tell that they were using double bass (i was so fucking close that it hurt!!!! it was awesome). they have many shows at www.dcn.com if you want to see them live, you can definitly tell that there is double bass action through out.

yeah its possible to do it with out the double bass...but that just seems like a dumb thing to do cause it makes you look like amatuers cause you dont know what is going on in the song. also doing it with out the double bass gets rid of the cool double bass drum roll/fills that add just that little spark to different parts. it would be like playing staind or cold in drop d instead of using the real tuning.

but it is your band tim, and you can do anything that you want with it, thats just how it seems to me.

thats what i think
Andy
