Subject: Shooting Guard by Committee, Or....??????

I would love to say that we have a shooting guard that plays 30 minutes, averages 12-15ppg, can consistently knock down the outside shot, and can create offense by penetrating by dishing off, or pulling up to drain the jumper. To be realistic, we don't have that player right now. We have seen flashes of greatness, and actually 2 very good games by Bell, but we have not seen anything on a consistent basis. So what do we do.

- Do we continue shooting guard by committee, and play the guard who is hot, or that matches up best with the opposition????

- Do we just give the job to Bell, and hope that with increase playing time that consistency will come????

- Or do we consider using Todd more often as a 2G?????

IMO, Todd has been our best and most consistent backcourt player, he has also been probably our best 2G..... which he plays about 5mpg. Is it outrageous to think that we should see more of a Todd/Goode backcourt. I dont have the Stats but I bet we have played our best Hoop with that combo. Give Goode his 20mpg at PG, and Todd could play the other 20mpg. In addition, put Todd as the 2G for 10-15mpg at the 2G..... giving him 30-35mpg overall. Could work..... that would leave 25-30mpg for Bell and/or Kudjo.

IMO, Bell and Kudjo are still trying to find their game and get consistency. Todd and Goode seemed to be producing consistently.

someone definitely needs to step up and and I think bell has the best shot to do that. o'toole has to give him an opportunity to see what he can do, pass or fail. If he can't cut it, then todd is probably our next best option. being on the fence between sogadzi and bell was ok at the beginning of the season, but now is the time to make a decision on one of them.

find a coach that will let a player play....not take him out every 5 minutes....coaching is not a game of pattern substiutions... let players play for 10-15 minutes at a clip like real teams do & see what happens. A real coach will get the most out of his players not the least.
