Subject: Holy Cross on the Schedule????

MT, forgot to answer your question a few days ago about scheduling Holy Cross. Here's what I know:

Stags and HC signed a 4 year deal. HC Coach Ralph Willard announced at a Fairfield County Alumni Meeting similar info. When it came to brass tacks to schedule the game, they could not agree on a date. We were to play in Worcestor, and HC gave us one available date..... which was 2 days after an away game (I think Depaul). Not a good situation right before finals. HC pursued UMASS, and we pursued Fordham as the replacements. I heard that UMASS backed out of the agreement, so HC scrambled and pick-up Marist (Away)..... and played them on the same day we played Fordham, So we could have played them if we just would have worked it out.

It all worked out for the better, as it was good to pick up Fordham, and I think that the 4 year deal with Holy Cross is still intact. I hope so, I would love to play them on a regular basis. It was said at the last Doc's roundtable meeting to Gene Doris that Holy Cross would probably be the #1 OOC opponent that Stag fans would want to play. Don't know if we are #1 on HC's list, but I think there is a lot backers on the HC side for this series. We do play them quite a bit in all other sports.
