Re: road swing -- JoeStag, 10:54:23 01/11/03 Sat
Year after year, the top teams in the MAAC usually follow the same Blueprint. Win all your home games, Split with the OK to good teams, and go 2-0 against the bottom 3-4 teams..... that will give you a 12-6 or 13-5 record and put you in the top 3. Usually some upsets there, but thats got to be the goal.
If we are a top team we need to beat Rider. Iona and Siena would be tough to beat away, but we need to play them close and hope to upset one of them.
Canisius will be much tougher than everyone thinks. Yes, they have lost 6 in a row, but 5 of those games were on the road and that includes losses to Bonnies, NotreDame and Syracuse. They are only 1-3 in the MAAC, but all of those games have been Away games (Niagara, Siena, Iona, Marist), and all tough games. We will be their 1st MAAC home game..... I don't like that.
This makes today's Rider game as Huge.
I would be very happy with 2-2, and that would set us up nicely to be in contention for the top spots..... with the Manhattan home game beiong the next in line.

We need to go 3-1 -- JCM, 15:21:45 01/11/03 Sat
If we have turned the corner we need to find a way to win at least three of these games

Ummm GOSTAGS -- Tony, 19:03:56 01/12/03 Sun
I don't know why you think Fairfield would lose at Iona and win at Siena, since Siena is better than the Gaels. Both games will be tough for the Stags, but just about every rating service rates Siena far better than Iona
