i just received a call saying that we were having problems with the web stream. After reading some of the problems and checking the stream myself, there are no problems with the stream. If you are having problems, it is most likely problems with your software or your computer. Many of those problems are addressed and can be fixed by reading this post from Casey Timmeny, the Broadcast Coordinator at WVOF.

http://www.voy.com/25463/11858.html

As you may have noticed, the site has changed slightly, especially concerning the web broadcast. It is much easier to follow. If you are still accessing the old page (which I have heard many are still contacting), go to this link:

http://www.staff.fairfield.edu/ctimmeny

This site looks much like the old one, but there is more description about how to make sure that everything is working.

If you do all of this and still have problems, it may be because there are too many people trying to connect to the stream at once. It is for this reason that we are converting to Quicktime 6.0 or higher. This stream will be able to accomodate many more listeners, and will sound clearer. I have a PC at home and was able to download Quicktime just yesterday and listen less then 5 minutes later. We will be all Quicktime 6.0 on February 1, which is more than two weeks from today. Please go to WVOF.ORG and update your software, and if you are still having problems, email Casey at ctimmeny@mail.fairfield.edu or myself at the address below.

Hope this helps-
