Without Gai next season, the Stags front line falls on Thompson's shoulders. Robbie is a great kid who gives 100% every time out but there's no way the team will come close to 19 wins losing Gai, Deng, Oscar and Delfico. The last time the team went to a post season tourney rather than improve on it's success, it fell back on hard times for several years. As a fan lets hope Gai stays and the team continues to improve. But if Gai leaves there's little doubt this team will be lucky to break even next season.

The administration should get involved and see exactly what's bothering this young man. It seems there's more to his problem with the basketball program than what has been written in the paper. After hearing about Gai's desire to transfer, does anyone really believe the assistant coach left last month because his wife was home sick? The difference between 19-11 and 11-19 in 2003-04 could be the loss of one All MAAC center. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

You want the University to find out what is bothering this Gai? Do not forget how the University handled his "issue" last year - can you say suspension beyond what is rational? and you think they will be helpful in persuading this Gai to stay on board..

Attitudes like this Gai's are what divide a team at it's core (can you say prima donna) and your inane "speculation" about Mcleod's departure and "X-Files tie" to this situation are absurd and irresponsible -

too many people telling him he is "too good" for the MAAC, yet he is not close to there yet - and is not willing to work hard to get there.. mark my words, there is a place for this Gai in a "Big Time" school as well as the NBA - it is called the Bench!

From what I've read this past summer, the "Lost Boys" have quite a rivalry amongst themselves. It would not surprise me that Deng is a little jealous of Luol's situation. Isn't another Sudanese player being recruited by Michigan?
