I think teams like Brown and Drexel could be very logical 1st round opponenets at home. The teams would have to be somewhat local if we were to play in the first round. I do not see Rhody as a definite home game as they just have built a new Arena on campus, so they are probably pushing hard also..... that could be a 50-50 chance of hosting it at home.

I am still holding out that American beats Holy Cross tommarrow night in the Patriot Championship. A Fairfield - Holy Cross Matchup would my #1 choice.

I think we also have 2 other connections in the NIT office..... former Fairfield coaches Fred Barakat is suivisor of officials, and George Bissacca is legal counsel for the NIT. Both probably are not on the selection committee, but their presence has to help.

Barakat works for the ACC. I don't think that he has any connection to the NIT.

Check the link below, he has some part time involvement in the NIT, as supervisor of officials. Go to www.nit.org and see a lot of Fairfield connections
