I think if Canisius wins today, then they are #5.

Good job by Coach Nolan after all the graduations, injuries, and the Ayanna Brown thing. Some big time improvement by some players from the beginning of the season.

Miljkovic - is now providing consistent defense at 6-3 and giving us about 10pts, 9rebs a game

Podrug - the 6-6 frosh is contributing on both ends and gives much needed frontcourt depth. She was getting zero minutes to start the season.

Rutherford - the Jermaine Clark look-alike. Is now scoring more and has broken into the starting line-up.

Dash - the inconsistent Dash has provided key offensive bursts. If she can eliminate mistakes, she can be some player.

Mcmanus/Celeberto/Chartier - the guard unit will be very dangerous come tourney time.

Agree that Dianne has done a good job this year, although Podrug seems to have taken a step backwards the last few games.I also would like to see a little more of Rusie; she is instant offense off the bench in limited minutes.

If FU finishes 6th, they get Rider and then #3 St Peters.
Although SPC is always tough and extremely well coached, we did just beat them Wednesday night.
If Canisius loses to Loyola, FU finishes 5th and gets Iona and then #4 Niagara. Niagara beat us twice, but I'd rather face them than SPC.
It would be nice to win 2 and get to Saturday, but then either Siena or Manhattan would be waiting and they would seem to be too tough.
My prediction is Siena wins the tournament, and Fairfield wins in 2004.

I do not understand why Rusie does not get more minutes. She had seven points last game in no time at all. Prior games, she has also scored well. Perhaps she is missing defensive assignments and I'm just too stupid to realize.

I think she struggles defensively and rebounding. IMO, she is pretty one dimensional - catch and shoot. Since she doesn't handle the ball confidently, she needs to play forward where her defensive and rebounding weaknesses exist. While you'd love to have her shooting, you can't have it until she becomes a little more well rounded. Unfortunately the 3 spot will be crowded next year.

Chemistry and playing time will be interesting next year.

It made me realize how much transition they have had when it was pointed out that Chartier was the only player against St. Peters who had played at Alumni Hall!! (Dewalt didn't play.)

I hope Podrug, Faurote and Murphy follow the pattern of making significant progress between their freshman and sophomore years. Dash and Rusie were clearly leaner and stronger this year. Rutherford is a significant contributor now as well.

I think they play better against most teams with a smaller more mobile PF - Rutherford or Dash, than 2 traditional post players. Thoughts?

I agree. They are better without the 2 post players in at the same time. It is encouraging that they are 9-9 with the ups and downs all year. With Isidora back next year and getting 30 minutes per game, who will see reduced time?

I see three and all unfortunate as all three made significant progress this year - Dash, Rutherford and Rusie. Isidora can stay well rested, she can go 30 rather than 30+ minutes a night.

Unless they are up against overpowering inside players and need two post players (Podrug, Millie, Faurote, Hammerer) I like Dash and Isidora as the forwards with Rutherford first off the bench. That leave two of the four post players out in the cold. It will be interesting
