Iona beats Manhattan, Niagara beats Marist - we are Co Champs and Iona is the 3rd seed and in our bracket.


I belive thats wrong Joe, if Both Iona and Niagara win its a 3 way tie for 3rd and Siena wins the tie breaker by virtue of its better record vs the other two,
Siena 3-1
Iona 2-2
Niagara 1-3

In that case Siena is 3rd Iona 4th and Niagara 5th

I belive with Siena's and Fairfield's win last night Siena has clinched the 3rd seed since we win all possbile tie breakers

I thought that Iona would get the #3 seed since they would have been 2-0 vs the #1 seed Manhattan?????

If the scenario you paint occurs Siena, Niagara and Iona will all have identical records, according to the MAAC website first tie breaker is the record against all teams tied, like I said if that plays out
Siena 3-1
Iona 2-2
Niagara 1-3

Which makes Siena the 3rd seed. Near as I can tell Siena is assured of the 3rd seed

If Niagara wins this afternoon, Iona must beat the jaspers to avoid the dreaded PIG. With he new format a 5th place finish is more or less the kiss of death

If Iona and Siena finish tied for third, the Gaels win the tiebreakers based on their two victories over Manhattan. So Siena hasn't clinched No. 3 yet.

I don't think Iona can be the 3 seed if they win. with a 3-way tie with siena and Niagara, Siena gets the 3.
I think Siena is the 3 no matter what

I forgot about the Mini-Conference rule, meaning that Siena would be the 3 seed.
