Ajou, Delfico and Garcia know the gravity of the situation. BUT I worry about the others. I wish I saw a killer instinct from the team this year, but hey, who knows now that everyone is back and healthy. Play with abandon and you won't need luck guys!

I saw an earlier post from JS Concerning Ajou as the Maac tournament MVP. I think it is unlikely that the tourney MVP will come from the stags. The folks that pick the MVP tend to look too much at scoring and with the minutes spread out across so many players and with the balanced scoring featured by the stags, an MVP from Fairfield is unlikely even if they win the tournament. You may recall that in 1986, Fairfield won the tournament and the MVP went to Kevin Houston, someone who didn't even play in the championship game based on his high scoring total in the quarter and semi-final rounds.

It is interesting to note that someone from Iona who plays big in the PIG, Quarter and semis might outscore a player from Manhatten who plays big in semi's and championship game. Does the new format hurt players from the number one seeds chances of getting mvp?

Anyway as much as I'd like to see a stag player recognized, blocks, rebounds and defense just don't seem to matter as much as points scored, so don't count on a stag winning the award

unless someone has a ridiculous offensive display, the MVP is going to be from the winning team.

determined by position? Gai did not get All MAAC recognition because of his offense, he got it (deservedly so) because of his rebounding, defensive presence and ability to affect a game.

Scoring is certainly more "flashy", but the coaches rewarded his strong overall play.

Without his scdring his blocks, defenses and rebounding would have gone overlooked
