Subject: What I Want To See..

1) A team that comes prepared to play from the opening tip. Don't fall behind. Build a lead. Demoralize your opponent who will likely be somewhat fatigued after playing a tough one last night. Fall behind early and it could be a long night.

2) Intelligent play. If you've got a good shot take it. If the pass isn't there, don't throw it.

3) Intelligent coaching. This isn't any early season game where you can experiment. It's do or die time. If someone is hot and playing well, please stick with them for more than 5 minutes!

4) Rebounding. Do not let SPC get a lot of offensive boards. The Stags seem to have gotten killed off the offensive boards lately.

5) Don't be surprised if Clark initially looks to drive and dish rather than hoisting shots. Stags might be so keyed to stop him that others become wide open. I wouldn't be surprised if this is SPC's strategy and if the Stags don't adjust SPC could jump out to a lead off of easy hoops. Don't let them catch us expecting one thing and then taking twenty minutes to figure out what they are doing.

I would like to see a Goode/Todd backcourt, with Goode in Clark's shorts for 40 minutes. Clark can't beast Goode off the dribble, as was evident at home. I would also like to see us make a statement early in the tourney and pump St. Peters, giving our main men a rest for the last 5 minutes. We have the ability to do it, let's hope we execute. If I remember correctly, it was the FF v. SP game at HarborYard where the combo of Delfico and Goode was so HOT. I clearly remember many fast breaks by Goode, with a last minute pass under the basket to Delfico who jammed it! Let's hope for another one of those games vs. St. Peter's! Go Stags!
