Rider Raver mentioned on another board that Ensor was happy with the turnout/media on the tourney in Trenton and will revisit there in future. This makes me want to barf. Their goal was 32K. I thought that was for the men's games only. However, I just learned that was for men and women. Well, they have drawn 13K so far, with only the championship game to go. Add 2K. Final attendance = 15K. They may not even do HALF of what they expected!!! And they think that is a success????????? We draw more for an average game at Harbor Yard with very few opponents fans, and twice as many for a big game. Imagine if a tournament came to the Arena? We would also get a large contingent of our own, including students. 32K would more than be a realistic #. We are more the nexus of the MAAC than any team and we have the nicest venue, much better than SBA! Time for Ensor and the MAAC scheduling committee to open their eyes.

We'll be back in Buffalo before we are in Trenton again. Unless Siena or Fairfield move up to the A-10 (Siena being the most likely candidate to do that), expect the tournament to be in Albany, and either buffalo or Bridgeport. Trenton had their chance, and proved there are not up to hosting the tournament

Add to that how poor the Rider stat crew and athletic department are. Numerous times MSG has commented on how they have stats to certain levels, while the official stats were missing much. For reasons that I can't express right now, I know for a fact that the stat crew is fairly poor and does not do with the programming what is ultimately possible - in fact they do only about 50% of what would be reasonable, and in many terms do not know the rules of stat keeping. Additionally, the availability of stats to media was lacking. Other PR situations were greatly lacking - all noticed by MAAC personnel and all reason enough for the tourney to never return to Rider in the relatively near future.
