It could just as easily been Niagara (#4) in the finals against Fairfield.

It also could as easily been #6 Marist against Fairfield in the semi finals.

The best thing the new format did was make a great disadvantage to being numbers 5-10. I liked it.

The new format is better. Those who like the old format are essentially saying eliminate the regular season and just play 4 games in March. The double bye is something worth playing for.

A double bye is a lot especially if it is decided by a tie-breaker.

New format made the Regular season much more interesting and meaningful. Season went down to the last day of the regular season with some importatnt swing games.... couldn't get any better than that.

In all reality the tourney format did not change the matchups that much.

Iona would have still played Niagara
Siena would have still played Marist
Stags would have played Rider instead of St Petes... no difference.

The Manhattan bye, did help them, but they deserved it.
