Hey Stagal, I like your posts and think you bring alot to this board and to the other boards. I always read your posts (and there are many that I skip) because of the content and passion for FF.

Hey, did you make it to the snow game? I was looking for the women in the FF sweatshirt on TV and didn't see you.

It is easy to see many are frsutrated by today's loss and that is understandable. I was not at the game but the stats speak for themselves and FF certainly played well enough to win.

Niagara is the worst FT shooting team in the league and we hit nearly 90%. Reaves is the worst on the team and he goes 5-5. Reaves has really improved and our team has as well...we are peaking at the right time which is fortunate for us. Niagara went to the line 17 time and Fairfiedl 21; clearly the refs were not a factor. You had a very good ASST/TO ratio and so did NU. Fairfield certainly played well enough to win but it just wasn't in the cards today.
Both teams played well and NU just a little better.

I'm not so sure that allowing an opponent to shoot 54% is "playing well". Especially when your (supposed) greatest strength is defense.

Well, these are just a few comments from a Fairfield Alumnus who was actually at the game. First it was great game to watch as a fan. The atmosphere was electric ( actually reminded me of my days in Alumni Hall in the 60's when we actually had a home court advantage). Second, Delfico must have been ill he played 5-10 min. in the first half, come out at half time sat on the bench for a few min. then went into the locker room never to return. Third, as most of the other (younger) posters to this board have said NU has perhaps the best starting five in the MAAC and it appeared like it on Sat. plus it looked like Reaves had a career game and we were still in it to the end. I thought the official were fair and even . I would have liked to have seen Rob in the game a little more to body up Reaves, but when all is said and done we are down 2 with the ball and 28 sec to win or tie the game, then get the ball back under our basket with 3.9 sec. We could not get the ball in cleanly for the last shot (that made the trip back to Rochester a little longer for me). Still all the fans really got their money's worth ( the ca. 6 who were for Fairfield and the 2000 for NU).
