Joe, we won close games early in the year for one reason and one reason only. We used ten players and this fatigued our opponents to such an extent that many of them became walking zombies by the end of the game.
Another point: I often feel more confident playing an out-of-conference opponent then confronting teams in our league. OOC squads do not seem to prepare for us with the same dedication as MAAC squads because these teams know so little about us. In contrast league coaches know our players as well as our coaches do(maybe better?). They know exactly what strategy to employ to counteract our strengths. If you beat them the first time, they are ready for you on the next occasion. That's why it is a constant chess match each time a MAAC game occurs. The coaches who are most successful in our league are those who can adapt from game to game . I am not sure that TOT has learned how to do this yet. We can only hope.
