Subject: The Rider Report

IMO, this game will tougher than most think, But we still should win. Rider has won 4 of their last 5.... spliting with SPC and beating:

- Iona by 11
- at Siena by 10
- at Marist by 13

Thats an impressive list of wins. Rider is a quick team as they play 3 guards, and they most recently have been playing the smaller and more mobile 6-7 Ed Muniz, instead of 6-9 Tank Wahlmann. Rider's 3 guards like to shoot a lot of 3's with Robert Talyor shooting 43%.... but the dangerous player is Jerry Johnson, but he is shooing only 28% from beyond the arc, and 36% overall. Johnson is an All MAAC performer, who I believe made 11 or 12 three-pointers in last years MAAC Tourney loss to Canisius. Lawrence Young can also be very explosive, but inconsistent. Last game he scored Zero points in 25 minutes.

Rider will fast break, and then dish to a set-up shooter at the arc. Johnson will also backup to shoot his threes. If we cover him at 22FT, he will backup to 25 ==> 27 ft. If we defend the three, we win. I see a close game, with Stags depth showing in the end, and Stags winning by 9.
