I do agree that our unwillingness to take the outside shot is an issue, but I feel the bigger issue is our lack of quickness on defense...... mostly in the frontcourt. And when we are playing well, our defense has been creating our offense. That how we have been winning..... strong defense and gutting it out.

And for all of you that think we have the best talent in the league, should really open your eyes..... Niagara has the best starting 5 in the league, and IMO, we are similar to Iona and Siena in talent, and probably behind Manhattan because of Flores. But our advantage is the Double "D' ==> Defense and Depth. Once we stop playing Defense, we won't win.

Defensive talent, I think we are #1 in the MAAC, Offensive talent, we are around 5-6-7.

Talent is the key when discussing defense. Fundamentally, we are poor (don't know how to box out). Our press is effective at times, but when broken, leads to a Gai tremendous block, a Gai foul, or an easy hoop.

I agree that we don't chuck it when we should, but has anybody seen the rotation on our shots (exluding Bell and Delfico)? It's pretty scary. Hopefully our recruits can shoot the basketball.

A positive is Gai stepping out and hitting the 12-15 footer (not the 3). He is become very complete and scary good.

Stagman's post about the stats below is a true sign of issues on this ballclub. Again, we don't play offensively down low very well, we don't rebound properly and we can't shoot the 3. Yet, we have won our fair share of ballgames. My biggest issue is our breakdown fundamentally.

Joe Stag, Your points are valid, but one thing is perfectly clear. We are always pressing teams no matter how talented their guards are or how prepared they are for us. Also, our offense is so predictable it isn't even funny. Any team that doesn't zone us up, is absolutely stupid. Tim, it is time to do something that should be done every game...ADJUST,ADJUST,ADJUST........
