Subject: Two Trivia Questions

People with longer memories may have a better chance of answering but all are welcome to try.

Question 1. In relation to F.U. Bball what do the following players have in common? 1)Jim Barry(Gtwn)2) John Austin and Ernie Cobb(B.C.) 3)Walt Luckett(Ohio U.) 4)Ron Perry(H.C.) 5)J.Ruland(Iona)

Question 2. Same as Q.1 but with these players:1)Nick Galis(Seton Hall) 2)Julius Erving(UMass) 3)Jimmy Walker(Providence) 4)Elvin Hayes(Houston)

1. guess: I don't think they were all from Ct., but probably led their teams to victory over us scoring a ton of points. Luckett was Ct. scoring champ from Bpt. Scoring champs of respective states (HS)???

2. All-Americans who kicked our butts???

2. Opponents that led the NCAA in a statistical category????

The Answer:
JS, you were close. The first group of players were individuals who were All Americans or who were the stars of their respective teams and whose teams we were able to beat because we controlled those guys.

The second group consisted of guys whom we were unable to negate and the result was a Fairfield loss in each case. Include the name Luis Flores in this second group.
