Once again, it must be pointed out that these refs are predominately middle-aged men who work almost every night of the week. With travel demands and in some cases other full-time employment, they don't have the requisite stamina for such schedules. I think they coast at MAAC games and focus on prime time conferences.

I watched Michael Kitts last night. You may be right that he is worn down from doing to many games. But he wasn't consciously coasting.

5 fouls called in the first 7 minutes--no calls on any inside drives, and the obvious body contact that resulted. Then, out of nowhere, every touch foul gets called. Inconsistent all night. Outside ref calling fouls hapening fright in front of the ref under the basket. And all night long, the whistle on a foul was delayed by a good solid 3 count. Two or three times it seemed like ref was waiting to see if shot when in before he called a foul, that's how big a delay there seemed to be.

I would estimate that there are approximately 300 Division One games per week at this time of the year, requiring 900 referee assignments. How large is the membership nationwide(or even in the east, if you have that information)?I think a lot of guys don't work while the good ones like Kitts and Burr have full schedules.
