Subject: Todd/Goode vs Siena Guards

It sounds like the Fairfield guards outplayed the combo of Mitchell and Jordan. While all four of them are young and talented, it was basically a matchup of:

2 PG's with better handle and quickness vs 2 combo guards that are bigger and better shooter/scorers

When you take the players names, and school colors out of the equation..... I would take the 2 quick PG's any day. I am gettng more comfortable with the Todd/Goode combo. Todd played 32min and Goode 29min..... from my calculations that means that Todd/Goode played 21 minutes together. Normally that unit is reserved for about the last 5-7 minutes of the game to protect the lead.

IMO, Todd/Goode complement each other. Todd creates and allows Goode to get a lot more open space, where he can stick the 3. On the other hand, Goode can take some of the PG duties away from Todd allowing Terrance to get some hoops, and work from the side and baseline where he is very effective. Also our defense and ballhandling are much improved with both of them in the game. Don't think they need to 21min together every game, but I would not mind seeing them for more than the usual 5 minutes.

Todd and Goode proving to be a great combo, we would not have won without either of them. Todd took over scoring when we were having difficulty. Goode was given MSG player of game for his efforts, and he was guarding Prosper who is about 17 inches taller. When Bell returns, he should take time away from Kudjo.

Kudjo has been playing better, though. Why not tell all four to ratchet up the defensive intensity even more if that is possible.
