I don't think we've faced much zone coverage this year and caught us by surprise. Tried to force the ball inside to Oscar and Gai, but they were surrounded by 2-4 players and ball was taken away. Not enough movement, too predictable on offense which Siena was waiting for. Passing lanes were also shut down by their tenacious D which resulted in turnovers. Max and Gai both had shots they should have made. I'm sure the home crowd helped also. At least 2 of Gai's first 3 fouls were bogus, esp. the 2nd where he was standing with his hands up and Siena player backed into him to shoot. He was understandable very upset with that call. However we did not get disturbed and fall apart, then our D stepped up and momemtum changed. It reminded me alot of the 29-12 deficit we had against Marshall in our first NIT game in 73, where we pecked away and ended up winning by around the same amount as yesterday.

Manhattan is going to look to double team Gai and Garcia since they are our best offensive threats. I have been very frustrated the last few games because you know Deng Gai is going to draw the double team which obviously means one of your players is open. WE have to look to the open man and not force the shots. This will be key against Manhattan especially if they are planning to trap us all night.
