Subject: 2 trips to Buffalo

Why does Fairfield take two separate trips to Buffalo every freaking year? I know in the mid-90's we would play Canisius/Niagara on a Friday/Sunday. It seems that the last 4 years we are taking 2 trips a year (and sometimes a 3rd for the MAAC tourney).

Shouldn't it rotate who takes 2 trips?

I think this is a big disadvantage. That being said, check out St. Peter's:
1/16 @ Niagara
1/18 Manhattan
1/20 @ Canisius

That's a disgrace!

EVERY other team takes one trip (other than St. Peters).

The two trips are totally at O'toole's request. He felt it was bad for the team to go away for two games at a time and to sit in a Hotel room all day on Saturday between games. They used to get a high school gym for a few hours for a practice bewteen games but even then, he felt it wasn't enough. He believes no one ever goes up to Buffalo and sweeps those two games like that. The coaching staff feels Fairfield has an advantage in going up for one game and coming back for the second at a later date. I don't agree but we could definitely go back to the single trip if TOT wanted to.

The St. Pete's game v. Canisius this year on the 20th is in Albany. It is considered a Griff home game.

Leave it alone in Buffalo---stop complaining.
The stags are happy.
Find something else to bitch about.

For what ever reason, Fairfield does seem to make 2 trips more often than most MAAC schools, followed closely by Siena.

Manhattan and Iona seem to get off easy

Actualy saw the Stags getting ready to board Jet Blue on Monday afternoon at JFK. Makes the trip alot easier. Its a short, enjoyable trip on Jetblue--can watch ESPN all the way there

Great Point- that's a question for the Athletic Director. Maybe Gene Dorris can give us an answer.
