Hey, RedSea, you want me to mail my post regarding Fairfield (on the Siena board) to ESPN. That will get their attention (lol)

While it may be a goal, we are NOT close to this yet. We lost to Harvard. We lost to Charleston Southern. There are plenty of teams that should be complaining about this more than the Stags. While I am happy with our season so far, we shouldn't think that we belong in this group. If we are 15-5, maybe.

Even the losses to DePaul and St. Johns were not close. To be on this list we should not lose to Ch. Southern or Harvard and beat either DePaul or St. Johns- two teams that aren't great at all. It's not like we are blowing anybody out either.

I know that you say that this should be a goal and not that we deserve to be there, but I get a sense that some Fairfield fans think that we should. I agree that this should be a goal of ours.

Beat Iona!!!

you are probably right--but Manhattan did lose to Yale and St Peters. They beat St Johns, which of course we lost to--but we did beat Yale and UNC Wilmington--and Manhattan is 7th--mostly on the back of the Gonzo "best team in New York" headline grabbing stuff in my opinion. A quick look at the current RPI has both UNC-W and Yale as better RPI wins than st Johns--of course it also has us as a beter RPI than St Johns. Aside from St Johns, what is the big win that the Jaspers have? Not 7-8 Wright State #185 Sagarin rating)

That being said, I don't disagree 15-5 is more legitimate--but also I think you might agree Manhattan is probably a little ahead of itself.

Manhattan is just beginning to heat up. We have only played 4 0f our 14 games at home so far. We have 1 point losses to Yale and St. Peters. Plus we have a seven game winning streak. That nonsense about Gonzo and being king of New
York has no bearing oon the poll.

You guys will have a better guage on your team after the next three games. Let's revisit this topic in a week.

fair enough. My point though, was if we were to win the next three--we would be every bit as deserving as Manhattan is presently to be in that poll. When you're a Stag fan--you gotta think in the hypothetical.
