Taps and Frank were before my time, so I can’t comment on them, but I do believe that JAM could. The secret sauce to JAM’s recruiting was the upbeat style of ball we played. He recognized you needed something different to attract talent to Niagara Falls. Man, Tyrone Lewis, Desmond Stewart, Juan Mendez, where are you?
NU would run with anyone and, as a result, players could showcase their talents and have fun. Sure, more would catch the eye of a bigger program today and transfer out, but I think Joe would be able to plug and play. That’s what that idiot truthless could never get through his thick skull.
While he kept whining about defense and playing up, JAM delivered 2 NCAA teams. Now we can’t even get into the MAAC tourney!
