Subject: Police State ?

While driving home from work today, with the flow of traffic,
at my usual speed of 79 mph, I had a little Blue awakening.

I am living in a police state.

I did not understand the definition of ‘police state’ until today.

When I was a child, my parents had great respect for the Law.
They drove at the speed limit, because that was the Law. The
Law, they felt deeply, was worthy of their respect, and breaking
the Law was immoral.

But now :

Everybody is breaking the Law !!!!!

Routinely.

Including my parents.

I grew up in a Country that was Ruled by Law.

Now, I live in a country where everybody routinely
breaks the law.

Therefore, I live in a country where everybody is
routinely vulnerable to the whims of the police.

An example :

Someone mulling a car load of illegal drugs, if they
were smart, would obey all the other laws, they would
have all the required decals on their car, their papers
would be in order, and they would drive the speed limit.

Except, in a Police State, someone that is obeying all the
laws, and should not therefore be vulnerable to police whims,
stands out, and looks suspicious.

We have an abundance of laws that the police may enforce
whenever they wish, and we have been ‘encouraged’ perhaps,
to routinely break them.

AM
