Subject: Uni flipside

Alright there boyz, girlz and Jack Wellby,

Sorry to hear about the Brum thing Doug. You may as well do something you're happy doing... but what will you actually do for the year even if you do stay in Halls of Residence? I hope I don't sound too obnoxious but I am interested, genuinely.

Contrarily I'm enjoying uni, and my course. I'm doing the bare minimum to scrape through. Not reading any non-essential books, looking like a bit of an arse in seminars because of it, reading the books crucial for assessed essays, and doing well (passing) in anything I've got to do well in. Laura does far more work than me.

TOP UNI TIP #23 - If you have the bar footy table in the common room use it. It means that you might be fairly good when you get to uni.

I'm also a music journalist now. I've reviewed a single (the safety in numbers ep by idoru - 7/10) and an album (Swing When You're Winning by Robbie Williams - 8/10). I just get free stuff and write about it. It's so cool. Radio station fell by the wayside a bit... I might try and pick it up again at a later date. But being a music journalist is so cool. I get to go to gigs free (not yet though... I've only been doing it 6 days!) and don't need to spend loads of money on CDs.

Love life - there's not really anyone I like that much any more. The lovely Emily is still be a target, obviously, but apart from that I haven't met any girls which I like in a girlfriend sense. In theory I should know a girl called Claire who does French who I chatted to on Friday... she was average with the cider visor... jeez. That didn't go anywhere though. I don't care though because I love music journalism more than any woman. But if a nice woman came along then I wouldn't say no. In fact I'd day yes. Oh and Doug. Build yourself up to it, then ask whoever it is out. I did... didn't get me anywhere... but I don't live with the eternal spectre of 'What Ifs'. (Mental note - Still got to do very obvious!)

Anyway... cool... I am so cool... and so are y'all... but when I'm forty and spouting self-opinionated bullshit on a regular basis then you can say you knew me before it all happened. I may disown you, but it's worth a go anyway. So, stay beautiful and see some of you at Christmas.

Rich

ps. Happy 14th Birthday Doug
