most of us don't detest christians, we just disagree with them often because we love to think. a lot of faith and belief and doctrine and hate-preaching and anti-evil...well, when you think about it rationally long enough it makes you emotional...upset.
anyway
it's beautiful that you have something to inspire you and help you through tough times. everyone needs that. you found it in religion. but it CAN be found elsewhere. just because our outlet of frustration or our inspiration is not religious does NOT mean that we are an instrument of Satan. but so many christians see us that way that it makes us adamantly against God, and we start to feel that these people are looking down on us for not sinking to their level. if something you believe to be nothing more than a fairy tale that usually doesn't hurt anyone is being used to make you look bad, shameful, and downright evil, that's where the hostility comes from. that's why we appear to "detest" christians, and sometimes we do. but that's our humanity, not our demons.
