TodayI'm giving smartie a break from his training and taking Perfect for a quick school in the outdoor arena.
Firstly I ride her on a loose rein, giving her the freedom to walk and trot about anyway she pleases.
Shortly, after around 5 minutes, I slowly take up my reins and walk Perfect briskly round the school. We practise turns, serpentines, circles, halting, etc BEFORE TROTTING NICELY AROUND THE ADGE. fOR 15 MINUTES i WALK AND TROT pERFECT PRACTISING HER SUPPLENESS and getting her responsive to my aids.
Next,I work on getting a round, smooth canter which is controlled, calm and collected. We ahve two goesa t this and she acheives the 'perfect' canter both times!
I hop her over a few low jumps afterwards bfore cooling her down and taking her back to her stable!!!
