He promised without hesitation - no matter how heated the situation, and whether or not him and Bianca were even speaking at the time, he was always aware of the risks of not using protection and the dangers that it could put him, and her in the long run, in if he got careless. He wasn't that thoughtless. He really didn't like these sorts of conversations, but she had every right to ask him whatever she wished right now, and he would answer honestly.
