Hello BJ (OK), Texas had beat Oklahoma in seventy-two consective football games, and some rich Okies approached the Governor of Oklahoma to offer Texas 3.7 million dollars if they would annex Oklahoma and make it one large northern county of Texas. The Governor of Oklahoma was a past great, great, great uncle of Bill Clinton. The Okie's plan was to have the entire county, called Oklahoma, to have the largest college district, thus create an instant football power house. Texas would not go along with the plan and thought that was the end of it. WRONG!!! A young U.S. Senator by the name of Allen Gore tried to get the Supreme Court to force Texas to annex Oklahoma. While the Supreme court was trying to decide if they would rule on the matter, Oklahoma & Texas held an election to let the people decide if they did want the annexation to take place and thus create a football power house. The election went against Oklahoma wanting to be annexed. Aided by the liberal newspapers, Sen. Allen Gore had about a dozen recounts, loss every recount, before the Supreme Court ruled that Texas could not be forced to annex Oklahoma. However, Sen. Allen Gore made sure that all history books were censored and the whole affair would be forgotten in a few years by the general public. BJ, hope this clears up everything for you! Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas)
