Yes, Keely, it was the Coca-Cola Curse!!! :-)

All right, on with the finds. At the 1880's home, I dug a couple of Keely's planted pennies :-) , a quarter, and the top decoration (I call it a 'brand' plate) for a Laurel Stove and Range. I thought it was painted black wrought iron, but it isn't magnetic, so I'm starting to think it's painted brass. About the size of the palm of your hand. I'll try to scan it later sometime and put it up. At the old store site, recovered either a baby ring or small child's that isn't made of anything special and appears to have two small purple accents of either glass or plastic I would guess.

On at Potwin, I received a really nice burn at the lake and almost lost a rod to a fast-hitting fish (drum, most likely...he got off) while fishing for crappie. Had one more good bite but missed that one too. Cooked some hot dogs for lunch for the parents and grandmother on the shoreline under the trees on my portable camp stove, and then did a bit more fishing before the rain started and threatened to sink us (Keely's doing, I know it...paybacks for the pop curse). ;-)

Metal detected three locations in Potwin on Monday and found over a dollar in clad, but nothing but clad. Nothing very deep either.

All in all, a good time, and Keely is a great host. She didn't even try to burn me on the inside with the habenero sauce, although that would match my outside at the moment. Ouch!!! Off to kill an aloe plant... ;-)
