It has really been hot here in South Texas! Filled the bird bath with water and in less than 10 minutes, it had all disappeared, evaporated. Then turned the water sprinkler on to water the yard, which was a bad thing for a pretty little bird. It flew down into the water to escape the heat, but that was a mistake...... After getting wet, the little bird flew up and landed on our metal roof. There was a puff of steam, and the little bird slid off the roof, dead! Our barn cat, "Ugly Cat", went over, picked the dead bird up, took it out to a grove of trees in the pasture, and covered it with leaves, what a kind act! People are being advised to park their cars in the shade, seems that if parked on pavement in the sun, the part of the tire in contact with the pavement is melting and sticking to the pavement. When they drive off, part of the tire comes loose and stays stuck to the payment (these may be firestone tires?). Very hot here...... Please have a great day in Okie Land! Kelley (Texas)
