Subject: The studs cut

Gone 'n Dun It-- we start with some basic railwork, to warm up, then we do some work on out spins and sliding stops. Then we move on to the cow arena. There's a brand new bunch
of cows in, now of which have ever been worked. I take GD to the rail and completly untack him and replace his curb with a plain bosal. I climb back up and we go into the herd. He cuts the first cow well, although I'm working mostly on keeping my balance, finally we let the cow go. We pick another, this time I'm balanced, and can pay more attention to how he's doing. We cut a few more and I cool him down.

Dun It Like A Man-- DunBoy seems eager to work today. He's cut cows with me bareback before, so he's used to it. If GD is great, DunBoy is the best. I'm amazed at how fast he seems to move, even after riding GD who's not slow himself. The cows are a bit warmed up, but our first calf is a bit jumpy..he's goes bucking off to the other end of the arena. DunBoy leaps after him, and chases him back to the proper spot, then darts in front of it, getting between it and the herd. DunBoy cuts him as if everything's normal. We work a few more, then do a little rail work.

Marlett Poco-- This is our first time cutting cows together. Poco seems alright with it. For some reason, riding a Paint rather than a buckskin QH sees a bit different to me. He's bit finer boned, and a little smaller than GD and DunBoy,but he seems to be just as confident around the cows. And I soon learn he's very good. I can tell he's een ridden by many people, and was tained well.
