Subject: Zippo Deluxe gets a ride

Zippo Walks in, his head held low like a western horse.
I stop him, and flex his neck muscles by pulling his head to the left and right, but not hard. He walks around, then collects himself to jog. After a little jogging, i lope him. But first i tuck his shoulder. With all the practice of this Zip had, he tucks easy, and does a nice lope. His head never leaves proper place. Lots of training got him to stay like that. As we lope, he stumbles a little but picks back up. We switch directions. Walking he stays easy, and jogging is a little stiff. But he gets more fluid with time. Then i ask for a lope. One shake of the rein and he tucks his shoulder and gets fluid. He starts to extend his canter but i give him a Slight spur and sit back, he knows this as slow down. After a little loping, i spur him lightly at the girth and he stops. picking up my rein i back him, to make his hind end stronger. He backs flawlessly. As we cool off bareback. He nickers to the departing Shorty.
