I thought those were only "cow colleges" that couldn't get out of their own way? Guess not. Here's the bottom line: we need to join the A-10/CAA and start giving full scholarships asap or else we'll be playing Marist and Albany OOC for the next 20 years. Let's just get it done. It's where we belong. (

James Madison won the I-AA National Championship tonight by beating Montana, 31-21. The game was broadcast on ESPN2. This is the second year in a row an A-10 team has won the championship. Delaware won it last year. (

That's a major statement about A-10 Football right there. The best 1-AA football league in the country. That could be us in a few years. Anybody know what James Madison's academic standing is? Average SAT's, etc.? (

James Madison is a public school (not "land grant", however -- *LOL*) with a total undergraduate enrollment of 14,000+. According to the Princeton Review, its Average SAT is 1162 (Fordham 1212) and its Admissions Selectivity Rating is 93 (Fordham 94). (

The commonwealth of VA's public university system is a good one. In addition to UVA the system is full of good schools like JMU. When I lived in DC, I worked w/ several JMU grads -- all bright. Also know a guy who used to teach finance there. If they employ people like this guy as professors, then they're doing something right. (

Not only play those schools, but play those schools and spend millions to do it. If we are going to spend millions let's at least make it exciting. We belong in the A-10 for football. (

There may be a certain inevitability to this move. It's likely to happen, not because of any action on the part of Fordham, but because of the looming CAA/A-10 split, and the PL's refusal to consider athletic scholarships for football. Once the CAA teams leave the A-10, The A-10 is going to need us, and it's likely we will capitulate. If we are to go I-AA scholarship, we have to be in the A-10. (
