Patriot League well represented? Say what? A-10 got 4(5?) teams into the playoffs and half of the semi final teams were A-10. We need to join that league NOW!!!!!!

Two teams from a small non-scholarship conference is outstanding. Are you kidding? Colgate played in the 1AA final last year. I'd say the PL is more than representative at this point. We just have to get the bottom feeders, HC and georgetown to commit or get out. (

What exactly do you want HC and GT to do that they're not doing already? HC has set up some athletic booster groups, and GT is spending a tidy sum to build a new facility. Phrases such as "step up" or "make the commitment" sound good but have no meaning without some recommended action or standard to be met. (

As long as Fordham plays in the regional, smallish non-scholarship Patriot League in football, we will be mired in obscure mediocrity. Fordham, Holy Cross and Georgetown should drop this hopeless charade and join the A-10/CAA with full schollies. That will solve many problems for those three programs. (

But would HC and GT be prepared to spend what it takes to compete in all the other sports besides football? Would they make the admissions concessions that might be necessary? Lots of unanswered questions that would have major consequences. (

HC and Georgetown should either join the MAAC or drop it. Their commitment to football is unexceptable. (

You're not answering the question. What does it mean for them to "make the commitment"? What specifically do you want them to do to produce the winning teams that they're not doing already? (

Fordham, Holy Cross and Georgetown need to make a decision on football. Do they want an expensive, invisible no-impact program or one that serves the objectives of these schools? Either do it right, or get out of it. (

You mean you'd rather drop football than stay in the PL? Kind of throwing the baby out with the water, no? I don't think any decision Fordham makes is tied in any way to Georgetown or HC. I could care less about them. (

I do not advocate dropping football if we don't move to full scholarship 1-AA. In fact we are currently "out" of college football for all practical purposes, being in the essentially invisible Patriot League. Unlike you, I, like many others, would like to see Fordham compete in a full scholarship 1-AA football league with our Jesuit brethren, Georgetown and Holy Cross. (

Re: Respectfully, I believe that overstates it a bit, Rambacker; and Fordham's athletic administration has not helped itself by scheduling OOC opponents that, on their best days, could not beat Delbarton, Don Bosco or Bergen Catholic. (

Are they available? Let's see if we can get them on the sked too. (

I'd like to see peace in the middle east as well. There are somethings that we have no control over, such as the money that HC and georgetown spend on football. I'm sure coach foley or some of the players would like your insight into the quality of football. Perhaps at the start of practice in August you should go down to the field and tell them that their level of football esentially leaves them "out " of college ball. I want to be there so let me know. That kind of petty, macho, confrontational statement lowers you to the level of Minion and the other AFF'ers. Stating an opinion on this board as to where one believes Fordham should play it's football is not an insult to current Fordham football players. In fact, several former players have posted here that they agree that we should move to the A-10 in football. Again, you have shown your true colors by lowering yourself into the gutter with cheap, classless comments because you have run out of your typical vague and weak arguments against moving our program to full scholarship 1-AA football. Thanks for the lecture. I just quoted what you said, that we were basiclally "out" of college football. I would think the coaches and players may take exception to that. I merely suggested you share that opinion with them. (

It's clear what your intention was with your post. Due to the fact that you don't have the intellectual capability to present a sound argument against going 1-AA scholarship in football, you have again resorted to a gutter-level comment that is quite frankly an embarrassment to those of us who value our Fordham education. Are you next going to invite me to join you in the parking lot for a high school brawl dance? Pathetic. (

Re: Come on, fellows, it's Christmas. Let's put our differences aside for a couple days. For myself, I greatly enjoy participating on this board, (which is far and away the best PL board) and the passion which you all bring to it underscores the pride and spirit which you have for Fordham. She is fortunate to have you as graduates and/or supporters. I look forward to the coming year and continued growth and success for FU athletics. (

The best to you for the holiday season and 2005. Let's hope in '05 we see a change to a quality of leadership in athletics that matches our passion and pride. (

I merely suggested if you feel so passionately that we are essentially "out" of college football, tell the team that. They may agree with you and say,"Rambacker is right, playing in the PL is beneath us so why bother"? On that note, kick back and enjoy an eggnog on this wonderful day before Christmas. (

Have a Merry Christmas and my wish for you in '05 is that you can develop a Div. 1 mentality. No more Div. 3 stuff. (

That is an excellent wish for the new year. Perhaps Santa will bring us an administration with a plan that will allow that. As soon as he does, I'm all on board. Until he does, in the words of parcells, "we are what our record says we are." (
