Subject: Archery Practice

(just join in here if you want archery lessons)
She walks to where her horse is stabled and returns with a number of long sticks and a pouch of string. Then stands in front of her students before finally speaking quietly in a thick irish tounge.

"First of all, I should warn ye, I shall not be talking much after this introduction, I find it a waste of time and energy. After we start I shall be instructing you visually."

takes a breath, obviously not used to talking this much

"You shall need to learn to be silent, nimble and observant, an archer alone is no match for an armed foot-soldier if you cannot develop these traits. But with luck, you shall never have to get that close."

With that she hands each a long stick and carries a ball of the string which turns out to be dried gut. The stick is smooth, slightly bent and tense but flexible with notches on the ends.

Rhia picks one up herself, measuring out a length from the wind of string, letting it fall a bit short of the actual staff length then throws the ball to the first student.

Watching as they measure out their string.
She adds as an afterthought,
"These sticks are saplings, but once ye know what suits you you can pick the right length and type of wood ye like"
