She glances at Tabitha and copies her in putting her hands carefully in her lap. She stares in awe at all the fine men and women then leans over and whispers in her friend's ear "Aren't they all lovely? look at Lord! I've never seen such fine clothes!" Then her gentle gaze turns to Mr. John Knightly and she smiles shyly. "Yes sir, I've never been to a feast like this!" Glances at the many different forks and spoons and looks bewilderly back up at the man. "What are all these for? in my old home we ate with our hands."
