She was a little shoked at the response, what could she say to that. "No Kale, it doesn't even hurt. Besides you said we had to stick out for eachother, people arn't going to be doing that twice if you have some one watching your back." Quickly she changed the topic, if not for his comforet, than she was more comfortable changing the subject. "well i can say one thing for you, you definatly have the reflexs for this. But your the kind of person that when you hold it to tight, you'll break it. if you do, you owe me a new staff." She took his hands and placed it at sertain intervels on the staff. "hold it like you would a baby sparrow, hard enough so it can't get away, but soft enough so you whon't kill it." leting him hold it for a minute she quickly reached out and grabed the staff, giving it a little tuge to check the grip.
