Subject: So what do all you YM readers think about losing your Editor?

Will you all be transferring your allegiance to PBO?

I am now cancelling my subscription to PBO!!

What on earth are they playing at?? I would have thought that with her track record at YM she would have been more suited to Flower Arrangers Monthly.

Denny would turn in his grave!

[> A brave decision by the IPC Mandarins! -- Endymion, 15:42:18 09/11/02 Wed

Like her or loathe her, I suppose that SN has done a reasonable job with YM. She is, IMHO, suited to the style and readership of YM. I personally have my doubts whether she will be able to adequately fill the shoes of the person she has ousted (again IMHO, NOT on merit) at PBO.

I liked the gentle style of PBO as opposed to the "loadsamoney" approach of YM, PBO WAS the cruising mans magazine.

Rodger will be missed.

1)say Marian , what changes do you foresee in YM when you take over ? and will we all need to move to scuttherbutt ?
2)say Disgusted , your style is very akin to Steve C. , so if that's you...nice to have you back , it was getting too easy for the pro-€ brigade , and too easy means too boring ;-)
3)when looking at september's cover of PBO , one can fear for the worst , as it indeed looked more like the cover of any YM

PBO seems to have lost its way a bit recently - it certainly needs a make-over to be any use to anyone (IMHO). SN certainly changed YM when she took over there - but whether for better or worse is a matter of opinion. So perhaps she will bring a new style to PBO as well.

What is interesting is why SN should want to move

[> I THINK (Caps RQD) -- NigeCh, 21:41:40 09/11/02 Wed

I think that if Herb McCormick took over editorship of YM and Andrew Bray took YM and every other editor played jam for tea tomoorow then we might just get another magazine to match BYM.

Pity that BYM doesn't have a few bitties that the others have, or perhaps that's the strength of BYM.

To be absolutely honest, if you pick up a copy of YM at ramdom then a year later or so pick up another random copy, IMO, you seem to be reading the same copy. (Sorry about Sailing Today - it's an ought to be that's never caught on)

I found a loosed copy of PBO the other day at LHR and it was a good read - Didn't like the cover which FAILED to match its innards.

Seems the change of ownership over here is rankleworthy.
