The structure underlying the 64 hexagrams of I Ching is really the same as the binomial theorem. So in China the underlying math principle sort of got dressed up in mystical clothes, and served as a nucleus around which folk wisdom and insights accumulated. This example supports Prof. Nerode's observation posted on 27 Aug.
