Subject: Yogi Hamid Bey - My Grandfather

To All Seekers of Truth...

I am one of five grandchildren still living of Hamid Bey. Let me say that I am so disheartened to read the account of Grandpa's life. Not only was he NOT born in Cairo, his teachings were recorded and transferred to each of his grandchildren per his request upon his passing. We understand that our grandmother sold the rights to the original Coptic Fellowship of American and in doing so somehow his teachings have been altered for the benefit of telling a story that just is not entirely true.

His birth-date is correct,his date of passing is correct, his heritage is Italian, he was found playing at the age of 7 years old in the streets in Italy by a scholar who convinced his parents to allow him to be taught in the temples of Egypt. We have copies of his Master Lessons series, copy of the ORIGINAL print of "The Power of your MIND Versus FEAR and much more.

He was married, with two daughters, his first daughter, my aunt, was the Godchild of Paramahansa Yogananda, she was an artist. His second daughter, my mother, was a concert Pianist Vivianna Bey. Grandpa was a GREAT man, Father, Grandfather and Teacher of the Power of Mind over Matter. He was sent to America to challenge Houdini and in the History Channel special about Houdini my Grandfather, Hamid Bey was in that special and they referred to him as Ramin Bey, again, history portrayed incorrectly. He would be buried alive, lay on a bed of nails, stick sewing needles through his neck and chest all because in the day and time that Grandpa came to America it was the Vaudeville years and he had to put on a show to get peoples attention about the power of Mind over Matter.

He established the Coptic Fellowship of America and held lectures each week in the building on Beverly in Los Angeles. I have his original Meditation Chair and paintings of him that were in the Temple in Los Angeles. His Secretary, Harriett Meyers worked for Grandpa even after his passing to continue his work in transcribing his teachings until she was 98 years old and could no longer work.

Please honor all that he stood for and pass along his great teachings not the untruths.
